Many shops in London will start their sales on Monday 27th December (bank holiday in the UK), others will start on Monday 3rd January (another bank holiday); with the rest of shops falling between those two dates. Starting the sales before Christmas is considered an absolute sign of desperation and very few shops will do it. Apart from Edward Green (whose sale shoes will clock on at about £ 285.00), you might want to try Polo. The Purple Label shoes are made by EG, they retail normally at £ 590.00 (shoe trees included), but get usually marked down by 50% in the sales. Asprey also stocks a number of EG-made shoes, which might, or might not, get reduced. Other makes worth checking out are Crockett & Jones (particular the handgrade range) and John Lobb (Paris) in Jermyn Street. As I said, nothing of significance is likely to happen before Christmas. Give the stores a phone call next week and ask for the date of their sale.
