I'm open to almost anything. I'd like to find somewhere that's not going to be unbearably hot, and somewhere where I won't get completely reamed on the exchange rate, if that's even possible. I'll probably have around two weeks. Tailoring opportunities are a plus. I went to Tokyo last December, so that's out (thanks to the forum for helping me plan that one too).

How about going back to Asia, but further south. Start in Hong Kong. Pegged currency, good tailoring with reasonable turnaround time and cost, great food, and nice weather around then (60s). Then go to Southeast Asia (Bangkok, Bali, full moon party at Ko Pha Ngan, Vietnam, etc.). A bit hotter than HK, but not terrible, and the main spots are tourist/traveler-friendly. China also offers numerous possibilities if you go this route.

Schenzen, China would be nice. Warm climate, Hong Kong next door and Foshan City up the road aways.

There is nothing nice about Shenzhen.

I would love to go to BA, but not during the summer. Average highs are above 80. Too hot for walking around all day comfortably I'd say.

I suppose that would depend on what you like really. What's so bad about Schenzen?
pollution, crime, its ugly, you have to carry your backpack on your front, weather is basically crap, ripoff merchants everywhere, nothing really to do other than cheap hookers/massages/tailors (which admittedly there is sometihng to be said for all three, but all three can be had elsewhere in Asia), air you choke on, I think a better question is other than a short train ride to HK (and HK day trippers enjoying cheaper shopping accordingly), 'what's good about Shenzhen?' This pretty much sums it up...http://www.iht.com/articles/2006/12/...s/shenzhen.php

+1. I am actually thinking of planning a trip down there during that time frame.
