Tailoring (jacket) sleeves

I have a camel hair jacket I've been messing around with as a tailoring experiment. So far I've taken out some of the "canvas" in the shoulder and chest, to good effect IMO. I noticed the other day that the sleeves are quite loose, but the armholes/sleeveheads are not particularly large. Is there a way to slim the upper sleeve down some? Anyone had this done? How would I go about doing this?

Are you doing this yourself? Sometimes you need a friend to fit a garment on you. Othrwise you can take hours experimenting with where the pins need to go.

Yes, I will do it myself. I just need to know which seam would be the one to taper in a bit, and on which side. There are two seams under the sleeve, and either of them could be taken in various ways. I don't have a problem pinning and trying on a zillion times to figure it out but it would be easier if someone had ever had it done, or knew if it is even possible.
