Matt Deckard Apparel

Thread Starter
Just thought I should share some pics of my first client in his suit. A lot of work went into this, details and construction and fit are great and to spec with what I think a quality suit should be. I'm into craftsmanship so I hope it shows.

Take a gander.
Dagwood's suit and customer number 1 with his approval.

Hey Matt, good to see you around. Sharp suit, I like the "look".

Is he wearing a short sleeve shirt?

Are these fully canvassed or partial/totally fused garments?

Hey Matt, how come we can't see his shirt cuff. I like the outfit overall, just this one details for me needs to be addressed.

Good Job!

I cringed when I saw this thread, considering how strange and even creepy I find most of your outfits and pictures, but this is actually quite nice looking.

Is there something wrong with your page, Matt? I can't seem to get in.

For my tastes, the shoulders are too square and the pants are too full. But more objectively, I think the lapels are wrong--they need some more belly.

You are so critical. Clearly it is a modernists approach to a classic suit.

Matt D. What is your involvement in this? He is a client of your...what??

The over all balance and symmetry looks good. I like how the front darts are cut and sewn into one stripe at the pocket. Nice touch.

Styling wise ( purely personal preference) I would lose the jacket flaps, go besom.
I prefer to only see one or two buttons of the vest above the jacket opening and the vest points are too close together. These are totally subjective points.

It does look like a well cut, well executed suit. Fits very well. My one criticism is that it has a very commercial look to it.

best wishes with your new venture Matt.

Can't say I'm a big fan of the fedora style but that suit looks like it fits well.

I agree w/ Chris on a lower vest but that seems to be more of a personal pet peeve than anything else.

I just thought the vest seemed to have a more vintage cut and style compared to the jacket.

The suit looks like it fits very well. I like the full cut trousers. I get my trousers similarly full, but with a single, forward pleat.

What is "belly"?
