Ties with leather jackets. Shoes with no socks. Emo hair. "Raw denim" (and paying $300 for it, and wearing it until it stinks, and calling it denim instead of jeans).

It is NOT acceptable to wear a scarf without an overcoat.

I totally agree about the summer scarf-it's (awful) fashion and not style.

Having said that, I wear a scarf all winter long. I may or may not wear a coat, and prefer not wearing a coat if I can get away with it. A good scarf and a good pair of gloves goes a long way toward simple comfort.

I was unaware of the trendiness of these four items. Hearkening back to the SF hype cycle, I would think that these are backlash to the back lash. Trends I dislike -
  • Waistcoats cut intentionally too short
  • Matching tuxes and colored vests/bridesmaids dresses at weddings
  • Mad Men branding tie ins
  • Barker Black anything

An item can be trendy on Style Forum and not in the high street and vice-versa.

Wingtips have a lot of followers and some of them even wear them with the most conservative suits.

3 piece suit are making a comeback and regarding the light fabric for suits bit , that is just one of my personal pet hate.

So we're talking about trends on SF rather than in the greater world out there?

Fashion trends I don't buy into. Fashion trends are fashion trends and we do have a lot of them on Style forum such as double-breasted suits, tweed, 3 piece suits, flannel, peak lapel single breasted suits, wingtips in general and with suits in particular and so on.

Are we takling street fashion ,runways ?
If you talk about classic pieces of garnments , they always will be in and out of fashion ,due to the ever changing nature of fashion itself.
