Yoox - what exactly is it?

I find that some things are current, most are a few seasons old. I don't know about 'insanely over-priced' given the retail prices of many of the items, but surely some items are much better bargains than others. I have purchased some Helmut Lang jeans from Yoox before, on sale for less than $50US. The items that I've ordered have all shipped from Italy.

Pretty good value for money, the most expensive Borrelli Shirt on there was 132 euro's and Barba's were about 78 euros.

Stuff you find on Yoox is not widely available (or at all) in the States, and many of the designers featured are less prominant than those found on Bluefly. 75% of them I have not even heard of. Towards the end of the season, they start to make humongous markdowns on the items, and the deals you get can range from good to amazing. I got some brown Costume National boots for I think $75 a year ago.. They don't tell you the retail price, but I can only assume they were originally selling for around $500. Also, they have a very generous and efficient return policy.

I strongly recommend YOOX.  I have bought some many things from this site so far, and it really makes me feel good since at this moment I live at a place where the shopping choice is almost zero. Yes, everything available on this site are off-season, but do you guys think there's something called current fashion for men?  Maria Luisa said she never cared about so-called current trends, and it's definitely even so for men's clothing.  As long as you have good eyes, you'll find so many gems from this site, and the price is much much lower than what you pay for current season items at Barneys or any other luxury store.  Where could you find clothing from Undercover, Antonio Marras, Hussein Chalayan, Martine Sitbon, or even Isabel Marant in the US?  I found very nice items from all these names at YOOX (maybe just not always for men).  I have a Marni wool coat which I paid less than $300 at full price from YOOX, and I got compliments for this coat at Barneys, Yohji Yamamoto boutique, A, Bloomingdales Soho, Jeffrey in New York last month when I was there.  How many places are there in the US you could even find men's clothes from Marni? Of course I am talking about designers' clothes in general sense, as for conservative style which puts most emphasis on tailoring and fabric, I don't know much about that, therefore can't make judgement upon YOOX's selection.

How is it pronounced? Is it like you, yo, youx, or yox (if that makes any sense)?

I pronounce it as rhyming with "dukes."
