It was good and I hope it will be great. However, for a first episode I think it was slower than I was hoping for.

Quick question....who was the guy that freaked out during the battle and froze on the ground? I couldn't figure that out last night.

I enjoyed the first episode, but had such high expectations it isn't really surprising I was a little disappointed.

I am really looking forward to seeing more of Sledge - With the Old Breed is one of the finest American war memoirs written. I really hope they don't race through his accounts of officer training and then boot camp in San Diego - both hilariously funny and deeply poignant by turns.

Just watched it; not bad, but doesn't hold a candle to band of brothers

This.

Felt like there was not nearly enough development before they all got onto the naval ship. In Band of Brothers you had the training camp, which offered great character development. Here, both the historical and character development weren't great.

On the other hand, I understand that there is going to be more time devoted to the "after the war" story of the characters, which was not done in BoB.

I thought the first episode was fine but I was still left a little cold. I'm still looking forward to the upcoming episodes.
