The shave looks much better on some guys than others. You need the right shape of head and face, and you need to be able to grow nice facial hair. Otherwise it just looks ridiculous.

At the beginning of 'The name of the Rose' there is a passage in which William of Baskerville is introduced; the narrator points out that he got his hair cut short at an early age so that no one noticed when he got older. This was always very convinving to me.

Hmmm I have the same problem. My hair is kinda long-ish. But ive been thinking about cutting it all off. So you think its the best to cut it short and leave it messy maybe?
