Any thoughts on John H Daniel Tailoring?

Thread Starter
I grew up in East Tennessee, and have been getting my suits made at John H Daniel for about 10 years now.

They sell MTM suits that i'm happy with (considering I pay an average of $3-400 per suit). The suits are fused, but you can get full canvas for an extra $150 I think.

I haven't ever worn any suits from anywhere else, and I was wondering if anyone had any experience with them that they might be able to compare to other tailors/brands/etc?

I've had a couple of full canvassed, that is, non-fused, suits made there and I'd say the quality is very good... considering what you're getting.

Most on this forum would probably hold their nose at a place like Daniels - a fine, old company - but it depends on what sort of value you're looking for. What you need, what you expect, etc.

If it works for you and you're happy then wear it w/ pride.

solid garment. good value.
They get great deals from the English mills

Not overly stylish, but they are working on updating their patterns.

Great people!!!

resurrecting this thread to see if, two years later, the forum has more to say about this US tailoring business. The updates Shirtmaven alluded to are evident on their website: http://www.johnhdaniel.com/news.htm.

Yes, I'd like to know as well. Anyone have anything new to say?
