Getting My Wife Drunk (and loose haha!)

So, my wife wants to drink cocktails and such. Problem is, she is somewhat picky in her tastes. Second problem is that I am a beer fran, so I have no idea what to recommend (or make, if it's easy enough) based on her tastes (see below). I have narrowed down the 'list' to the following, so hopefully you all can give recommendations?

* She likes cointreau and other orange liqueurs

* Likes cream liqueur, but not the coffee flavored varieties

* Any girly drinks that don't have vodka (daiquiris?)

What kind of stuff should she try at bars and such?

The best advice I can give you is to go to a bar with an old-time union bartender and have her describe what she likes and doesn't like to him. An established hotel bar is usually a good bet. He will come up with something good. You want someone who has been mixing drinks for thirty years and has made everything for everybody and watched what they liked and didn't like, not an over-educated 20-something "mixologist".

The best drink my wife recalls ever having was in the lounge at 21, asking exactly as I described. Unfortunately, she forgot what it was.

In a tall glass of ice, layer Chambord under vodka under soda water. Insert straw. Have her suck down the whole drink at once. The first taste is the explosion of chambord, which is a raspberry liqueur, which I guess she would like given those tastes, and the last taste is soda water. Done quickly, the whole effect is refreshing and there is no taste of alcohol involved. After one, people usually want to have another. It's fun and good. But note, ff she stops in the middle, it's a big taste of vodka, and that might be nauseating. So get her to suck it down real fast. You may have to demonstrate the sucking first if she needs schooling in that department. Two of these will get her drunk really quick. With kahlua in place of Chambord, the drink is sometimes known as a "mind eraser," so you could go to a bar, ask if they know how to make the layered drink with the straw, the mind eraser, and have them sub Chambord for Kahlua. Other fruity liqueurs might work; not sure; Chambord was always good enough for my purposes. It's also VERY important that the drink is not shaken or stirred. It should be layered like a black and tan, bottom to top: purple, clear, bubbly and clear.

The Kir Royal is a very popular drink here for ladies. It's Champagne with a splash of Chambord. Pink and bubbly and served in a Champagne glass...she'll love it. *high-five!*

The Between the Sheets is a classic cocktail that is believed to have got it's name for it's ability to get your partner 'loose'. It also contains Cointreau which means it should be more in line with her tastes.

-Yellowbird: gold rum, galliano, triple sec, lime juice (I prefer orange). -.357: Kahlua (sub in Bailey's for your wife), vodka, and a splash of coke. It's a somewhat stronger variation of a chocolate soda. -Fuzzy navel? OJ, peach schnapps, and sub in rum for vodka.

This one's easy. Campari and Orange, on ice. Any bartender can make it, as can you at home.

YMMV. I really, really, really hate Campari.
