I could so easily live in that cool looking house.

Perhaps it's my lack of culture, or the fact that I don't care for modernism; but to me the house is nice, yet unremarkable.

That said, living in New Jersey I've become acutely aware of the banality of McMansions.

I grew up two towns over and Know the house well, the plow it under mentality is all to well known around here, Mcmansions are every where starting at 2.5 all the way up to 100 million - well at theast at the 30 million mark you are getting real houses, the paper facades of the stuccoed styrofoamed lookalikes are really scary - no scale no proportion no intergrity, just a waste of mediocure materials to begin with. Not withstading personal tastes, I can respect talent, craftsmanship, design integrity and honest excicution none of which is evident in the cookie cutter nightmares that are dotting thier way from greenwich to easton ct.

If this was in L.A., I'm sure it would have been bought up in a snap. Were I quite wealthy, I'd collect Modernist houses, and build crazy-looking buildings that anger others. I also don't think this interior decor is appropriate:

The ensemble in the corner appears to be hiding from something, everything is too puffy.

In fact, everything looks like it came from a McMansion except for the Eames RAR rocker. That (slate?) floor also doesn't look original.

It looks like they furnished with stuff leftover from other places.

Clearly decorated by someone that doesn't appreciate the house for what it is. How much frumpier and discordant can you get? What a damned shame.

That was my initial reaction. The Eames chair sticks out like a sore thumb.

Including the loveseat and sofa? Those are really the worst offenders to me.

They appear formless and ungainly. The cushions are just big blobs.

And probably very comfortable.
