Las Vegas with........parents

So my family is going to Vegas for 4-5 days this week. The upside is that im not paying for the trip. The downside is that my parents (who dont drink or smoke) are about 50 years old, so I doubt I'll engage in clubbing or bar-hopping. So far we planned:

couple of shows at night time (cirque + other)
1 day visit to grand canyon/hoover dam
gamble for a little bit?
checking out different hotels/casinos...
visit relatives who live there

what else is there to do with my parents? i dont wanna spend 2 days reading in my hotel...

Reading, in Vegas? What?

Wait a sec -- don't you get to go out on your own some? There are some pretty serious cocktail bars in Vegas.

Many good topless bars in Vegas.

While your mom is shopping, take your Dad to one of them and buy him an O'Douls.

Do it for your Dad

I frequently go with family to vegas. shopping and walking around is great. you can eat at some good restaurants in town. lots of free shows (which may or may not be your thing). shows are always good. when in doubt, just head for the pool and chill in the jacuzzi. where are you staying?

My parents in Vegas at Pure for the Christina Aguliera after party:

It's Vegas, show them how to have some fun!

But seriously, you won't get to go out on your own when they go to bed?

Sorry. To be honest, I thought you were someone else as there is some avatar similarity going on. I always hate that. Good luck anyway. ~ Huntsman

I always go out by myself. Just kind of hang out on the strip, you're not gonna get into the clubs without a connection. Just kind of hang out, get drunk and have a good time. MGM is a pretty nice place. good restaurants, they have a nice pool. Lots of good restaurants have bars to eat at....Mesa Grill, Bouchon...even the Burger Bar at Mandalay Bay. Watch a concert. Watch a fight. Watch something....there is an unlimited amount of entertainment options in Vegas. If you want, go to the Callaway Golf Center to hit golf balls on the range. Shot guns at a gun store last time. Strip clubs if that's your ball of tea. There are free little shows like the fountain at bellagio, the cesar's statue show, etc. Only good to see the first time..it is kind of lame/touristy. If you like to party and are there on the weekend, go to Tao Beach during the day (Saturday) and REhab on Sundays (long lines though). shop at the cesar's palace forum and fashion show mall.

I wish. Family vacations for us, until my senior year, were to crazy stuff like the Grand Canyon, the Rock & Roll HOF, and a bunch of other stuff that would be completely awesome to go to now, but were lost on me as a 12 year old.

Edit: Plus I'd be more than happy to spend a few paychecks worth on some of those cocktail bars.

You know, my family did a lot of things I know I didn't appreciate when I was younger. There must be a parental compulsion to show your kid 'everything' when they're young, which I can understand. Funny, your second paragraph, as I plan on blowing a over half a paycheck on drinks and dinners the first week of June. Doubtless lots of pics in WAYWT, if I can walk that is.... ~ Huntsman
