Cool pictures from different cities

I thought this would be an interesting idea, post a picture of a place you've visited (hopefully esoteric) along with a brief description. This is inside the Prague cathedral in the Prague castle, I always thought this reminded me of the underground city from LoTR because these pillars are just gigantic.

That is a beautiful cathedral. Forgive my not being brushed up on my art history at the moment, but is it from the gothic period?

It was built in 1344. Here are a few pictures of the exterior, I think it and Stephensdom are two of the most beautiful cathedrals in the world.

I love the Jardin de Luxumbourg, my brother played a concert there with our regional orchestra. Where is the second picture, south of france?

No the 2nd picture was taken from a town called Clarens, overlooking Montreux. Both are on the swiss side of Lac Leman, or Lake Geneva. They do call it the Swiss Riviera. From Clarens you can see Evian lying on the French side of the lake. You wouldn't guess so on the picture, but to get to Montreux from Clarens just takes a 15 minute walk. I've lived there for about 2 years, then I had to return to Amsterdam. BTW, the Jardin des Luxembourg is extremely beautiful imho. I think I have some other nice pictures. Let me check.

I couldn't find more pictures of Jardins des Luxembourgs. Probably they're on my laptop. I found a picture of Monte Carlo though. Although the quality isn't that great... It was my first visit to the city when I was about 12 or something. I didn't have a fancy digicam then, just a disposable. And a picture of the Albert Cuyp market in Amsterdam:

Venice is definitely on my 'to do' list. It looks really cool. One of my friends and myself just started a little tradition, we want to explore our continent while adding beautiful items to our wardrobe I've visited practically all of the Western-European countries with my parents. But we want to see it again and do some stuff we like along the way. 2 more pics of Paris: The view when you dine at restaurant Georges, at the top of Centre Pompidou. Eating at Georges is definitely something I would recommend when you are in the city. The food is simply excellent. The personnel is stunning and the view is beautiful Centre Pompidou as seen from the terrace of Café Beaubourg.

Actually I'd posted about this before, I'd wanted to eat at Georges, but didn't get the opportunity to do so when I was in Paris last. I'll post some pics from paris later, I have some cool shots from there.

a few more cool pics: The bridge at Tate Modern crossing the Thames, leading to St. Paul's Cathedral. Schloss Belvidere in Vienna, IMO the prettiest palace in Vienna. Owned by Prince Eugene. "Top of the World" on top of Kitzsteinhorn near Kaprun in Austria. Some of the best skiing in the world. Notre Dame cathedral at night.

Sunrise, at Beach Resort Tofio on Fuerteventura in the Canary Islands.

This is fun - it makes the world a bit smaller. Here are some from a safari in SA, close to the Botswana border, IMSMR. First, the tent I had to myself and it was surreal. Then some random pictures with less than perfect quality. The trips were made early in the mornings or late in the evening so I could have used more light. Yours truly: Pedestrians crossing road: The main landmark: Bjorn
