Dr. Oksana Katsuro-Hopkins is my wife. The good news/bad news you already announced here is that she is married...just wanted to confirm this.
Notwithstanding this factotum, the thread is so tasteful I thought it safe to share a photo or two with you and admit [brag] I'm pretty proud of my wife, both the smartest and most gracious person I've ever met! I agree with Dusty above, the hot babes here with extended portfolio's, posed and exposed skin, while probably as described, very brainy, kind of bring down the Geek Girl image. My wife is also one of the geekest women I know, and very shy. If she knew I was putting photos here and writing she'd be definitely embarrassed and probably peeved.
How geek is she? Total. Her original thinking in her PhD thesis broke ground (she humbly protests) in the fusion energy field (ITER/Tokamak), and involves design of feedback controls on the plasma magnetic containment field, and thus electronic circuitry. But until I found a few resistors and capacitors to show her, she didn't have a clue as to what they looked like or even how they physically work; her work, her circuits are all done in mathematics. For me, a high school graduate, circuits was a hobby with a soldering iron.
In any case you guys sound like a polite and appreciative bunch, so I'll try to paste in a few shots...and when Wired runs another Geek Girl contest, please get out the vote!
By the way, I own a small, "ultra-luxury" men's fragrance atelier which has sold exclusively to Bergdorf Goodman for 15 years, Prastara. 1. Please bug BG to carry us again (new buyer problem), and 2. I'll send a bottle of one of our scents to two entries here that best wraps this all up...my wife, Bergdorf's folly, etc. Looking for humor, comment, originality to keep this neat thread going.
The first shot here is a bonus: The "Physics Girls". These are friends/colleagues of Oksana's, each PhD's in physcis who scribble equations on napkins at dinner. One worked with Hawking and all three would blow you away! And as you can see, they aren't showing off, other than a little direction from me (20 year ex-fashion photog) to vamp it up a little.
