Concerned by the # of posters who are trying to get rid of their RWs in this thread.... Why?

I was interested about a year ago, but they always seemed to bulky for me.

Though these look nice

Here are some pic of my (relatively) new GTs in Cigar-

They are about 2 months old- very comfortable and even a tad too big- They are a 7D and pretty huge toe box. I a 7D in Alden-barrie last fits better...but 7D is the smallest size RW makes...so, if I want to be a Gentleman Traveler...and I do...I have no choice

I'll probably pick up a pair to wear when it snows, but they're a little too casual for daily wear at my office.

They are a bit "bulky"; I wore them with shirt and tie a couple of times, and they just didn't work. And then I have RW 565 and 875 for casual looks, so I simply didn't need the GT. And, since no E width, they never fit my foot just right. I will be getting a pair of Iron Rangers to compensate for the loss eventually. The GT is an excellent boot, no doubt.

thor, that cigar color is beautiful... might finally pull the trigger on some GTs in that color.

My local Red Wing store offered to order me a pair for $210 plus sales tax .... clearly the $290 sticker is just RRP.

I'm in a tough decision. I recently purchased 2 pairs of red wings GT black cherry from endless. Size 7.5, and Size 8. Both sizes actually fit me surprisingly and I don't have too much of an issue with the width of the shoe. Size 7.5 fits me perfectly snug and hugs my feet. No issues with it being TOO tight. size 8 fits me perfectly as well and also hugs my feet, but it feels a little more relaxed. Which size should I return? will the leather stretch and get softer as I break them in? if this is the case, I'm leaning more towards the 7.5 because I wouldn't want the size 8 to eventually stretch and get too loose. Can anyone give some recommendations and confirm if the shoes will stretch? Thanks!

Is the 8 giving you any slippage? If so, I'd go with the 7.5.

kgmessier, neither the 7.5 or the 8 is giving me any slippage. I could wear either size and they feel perfect, except the 8 just feels a tiny bit more relaxed than the 7.5 and also a bit longer in length. I'm assuming that the leather will eventually stretch after the usual break in, and the 7.5 will feel just as relaxed as the size 8 no? and then if the size 8 were to be broken in, it'll start to become more loose as it gets softer. Based on that, im leaning towards the 7.5, what do you think EDIT: Is it better to wear them snug? this is my first pair of boots I've ever owned. Also I don't want to look short and stumpy since im 5' 7" with an athletic build.... the 7.5 is very very slightly shorter in length and size than the 8, so that'll help me out. So 7.5 is a better pick right? I just need some reassurance since this is probably the most expensive shoe I've ever purchased

Luckily I paid $174 for my GT's from Endless using the 40% Bing Cash Back. So sad that BCB is now gone
