Update.  I called Red Wing to ask about this.  They said that the welt stitching should be white and that they use only neutral polish on them.  Here's a pic.

I'm with dukerules, they will soon be discoloured as they gather dirt and dust from regular wear as well as polish from cleaning.

They may become discolored but it will still be light enough to be called contrast stitching. Would still be better than black cherry stitching

I agree.  I can still clean the white stitching on my 1k's with ease.  While they may get dirty, they always clean up.  I couldn't get the color out of the Beckman stitches.

Question for all who own GT/Beckman Boots. I am a Brannock size 11.5 for my right foot and a 10.5 for my left foot. My question is should I go with a size 10.5 D or 11 D in the Beckman Boots? I have tried both on and the 11 D fits comfortably across the ball of my foot with a little bit of heel slippage. The 10.5 D fits pretty snug across the ball of my foot with minimal heel slippage. Both sizes were tried on with a medium weight dress sock (not a thick, more winter style sock). After reading some reviews, I don’t know how much stretching to expect. Do they stretch a lot, a little, etc. Ultimately, I don't want the boots to stretch out so much that my feet are swimming. I also am planning not to use an insert. Thank you in advance for your help.

I haven't noticed any stretching so far on mine(3 months). The Beckman Black Cherry leather seems like a fairly thick, stiff leather.  I can't say for certain yet but it doesn't seem like a leather that will stretch much.

Thank you for the info on stretching. Did you size down a 1/2 size or 1 full size?

I measure a 9.5E on my left and 10D on my right on a Brannock.  That being said, I wear 9D in Allen Edmonds and Frye boots.  I wear an 8.5 in 1k's.  I went with 8.5 my GT's and IR' and while snug, width-wise, the length seems to be spot on.  Interestingly, from day one, I had no heel slip in the IR's; but the GT's had some slight slip.  Aside from the tongue/lace area, they fit the same.  So I think the heel slip is a result of the stiffer leather sole and the the stiffer upper.  My expectation is that the heel slip will go away with break-in.  The harness leather of the IR's already showed some creasing just wearing them around the house.  No creasing at all wearing the GT's around the house.  Hope this helps.

One more comment.  I wear my boots with medium-weight Gold Toe cotton dress socks - not the knit patterned type.  Also, I don't wear any additional insole.

I went down a full size, 12D on a Brannoc scale and an 11D Beckman fits well

Another aspect is that the GTs are long and narrow in their fit. So, if you have a slightly wide foot, then you normal (brannock measured) size may be required to prevent toe jamb at the side of the boot - your little toe hitting the side of the boot can be a painful thing. As has been mentioned thicker socks and insoles can help take up any slack as well as being a comfort thing.

Just received my Black Cherry beckmans. They are amazing boots. Just a note about sizing. I wear a 12 in sneakers and a 11 1/2 in all my other shoes, mostly Frye boots. I decided on a 11 in the RW and added a superfeet 3/4 mens deluxe insole. It is a perfect fit. I have narrow feet and I think this helps with these boots. Any comments on keeping the brown sole looking good? Do they even make a clear sole dressing? Just curious.
