As are the 9043 and 9042 oxford shoes. Part of Beckman collection. I have a pair for sale on here..check sig. They run a bit smaller than the boots (ie. 10.5 in boots, 11 in oxfords)

I have a question for all the GT/Beckman owners. I noticed that the stitching on the Vibram sole is somewhat exposed. So when you walk, the stitching seems to get worn. If the stitching gets worn to the point that it breaks, what would hold the sole to the shoe?

Thanks!

Don't worry about it. There is adhesive in play here as well as the stitching

Hey Yoyo

I bought the 9011 and the Brogue Iron Rangers (8126) at the same time. Have worn each about 10 times. Like them both and don't regret either - but if I had to have only one, I would choose the 9011. My opinion is the leather is a bit thicker and softer. I think they also are a bit more comfortable fit. The Brogue IR's are a bit stiffer and have, I think, a different finish to the leather. I  would also venture to say that while the 9011 is surely suitable for work or outdoor use - they have more of a rugged dress boot feel. I think the IR's have more of a work wear feel to them.

Again like them both very much and you can't go wrong either way. Hope that helps a little.

Had these since 2009. Hated the "redwing look" so I blackened the sole, cleaned up the leather and applied shine to the toes. And swapped laces and lacing style. Now I feel much better about the fact they will probably outlast me; I was originally very irritated at the idea of something I didn't like being so indestructible.

Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)

I am about to get on an airplane with these boots. With the steel shank, would it cause the metal detector to go off through security?

Yep. Very annoying, indeed.

Here in the States, we have to remove shoes for TSA/security somts not much of an issue. I enjoyed traveling through Europe this summer and keeping my shoes on. Note, my Alden's should have a steel shank as well and they did not cause any additional scrutiny walking through the metal detector.

Just found this photo of some cherry Beckmans, they look amazing! Did the guy crush the toe boxes (possible?) or something, they look a lot sleeker than the others I've seen.

I think it's a trick of lighting and angle - the rear one still looks blobby. I pounded on the toe of mine with a hammer until my arm was tired and the toe always bounces back. Not sure anything would work short of a long time in a vice. The leather held up nicely, though.

Measure them. Ask dealer/forum to compare measurements.

Anyone know how the 9029 Indy style boot fits compared to other RW's?
I am a 10.5 in the work boot.
