Shoe sizing differs across brands. If it doesn't run TTS, it may take trying on a few to get the right fit.

Thanks, I ordered the 10. I'll post about the fit when I finally have the boots.

Purchased a pair of russet GT's in June of 2010. Broke in beautifully, and have worn them on a near daily basis since. Most comfortable & versatile shoes I've ever had. About 13 months in though, the sole stitching began to pop, and then the right sole broke in half at the base of the treads. According to the Red Wing website any guarantee expires after a year, and I fear investigating what it would cost to have a good cobbler resole these here in Chicago. But why buy a new pair, after less than 18 months(!) only to have this happen again?

This been a problem for anyone else? Brand new to this thread, & 91 pages of comments is a lot to wade through.

I'm sorry to hear about your experience with your GT. My first advice would be to contact Red Wing. They should stand behind their products and regardless of whether or not the guarantee is still in force, they should make things right by you!

Good luck!

Hi everyone,
I bought a pair of 9016 Beckmans.
They look awesome but I'm not sure about the sizing:

I have enough room in the length, so my toes dont hit the front.
But it feels a bit tight on the sides, especially on the left side of each shoe i feel a pressure.

I have to say that this is my first shoe with stiff leather, I only had suede boots or sneakers before. Now I'm not sure if the sides will get loose enough with time or if I should size 1/2 or 1 up.

I picked a 41 (US 8). The shop's sizing guide says 41 is for 25,7cm foot length max, that's exactly mine.
Also want to wear them with thick socks in winter, so maybe getting a 41 1/2 or even a 42 could be a good idea?

I wear a 41 in Clarks DB, Chucks and CP and a 42 in Adidas and Nike

greets

If you're going to wear them with thick socks, go half a size up so you can make room for them. The boots should still fit.

Is the Iron Ranger or GT wider?

Purchased a pair of 9016s about a week ago. I'm a 10.5 in almost everything else, but the 10 is great for the GTs. Still breaking in, but the initial fit feels good. Anyway, another vote for going down half a size.

Purchased a pair in my normal size because I wanted a bit more room for thicker socks. Definitely regretted that decision after just one day of wearing them.

Listen to the advice of this thread, go down one half size! I certainly wish I would have found this thread last week shog[1].gif

Do you still have the receipt? You should be able to get an exchange.

Amazon has some great prices on Red Wings right now:

$245 for Gentleman Traveler

$214 for Iron Ranger

Stock is pretty low on quite a few sizes (kopped my size already).

Is there a difference in sizing between the Red Wing Gentleman Traveler's and the 8130? I've had the 8130 for 4 years, and I think it's time to cop a new pair of Red Wing boots.
