I'm actually wearing weird guys with the boots. Just break them in, they look fine trashed.

a cobbler has done some modifikations on the heels. the rw original heel was to hard for my liking, so he has used 2 layers of foam with different stiffness and one layer for the outsole. after 1 month of wearing i am really happy with it.

How much does wearing thick winter socks affect the sizing on these boots?

^amazing how you get the toe area still nice and smooth after a month of wearing. mine looks thrashed after several weeks of wearing. LOL. not complaining though. love them even more

Just got my tobacco GTs and as I was lacing them I noticed they scuff REALLY easily. The shoestring did a number on part of the tongue. I don't really plan on wearing them for a few days (other than the 5 mins I had them on earlier seeing how they fit and whatnot) but I have some Obenauf's on the way that should be here Friday. Should I go ahead and condition them before I wear them, or after a couple of wears? I've read it's good to do it early on, just figuring out how early.

Well said! Trash them or they'll trash you!

Well yeah, I've just noticed a few regrets about not conditioning them earlier in this thread. I know they're gonna fade and scuff and whatnot like raw denim in a sense, but I'm just wondering when the best time to apply the stuff is, and how often.

I wore them for a week when I first got them. Then I applied some mink oil while I was waiting for my obenauf to come... The mink oil did such a superb job that I didnt even bother applying the obenauf when it came.. Honestly, wear them. Once ur oils come, apply them and wear the shit out of them. If you're not exposed to wet terrain often, the oil actually last quite a long time.
