When I still attended public school, I went to a school in a district where **** was a common surname. The school nurse's name was Fonda ****.

In the same school was a teacher named Dick Cox. Either his wife's name was Sharon or there was another couple somewhere in the area named Dick and Sharon Cox.

Jack Knauf ran the local livestock feed store.

The previous minister at our church had been Rev. Harry Bump.

Friends at various times have told me of some remarkable names. Here are a few:

Grady Klinkscales
Schlomo Wunderlich
Harry and Anita Dick

Someone earlier called it an urban legend, but my mother actually knew a woman who named her daughter Placenta .The woman was in a mental hospital at the time, which might have had something to do with it.

Harry Baals. Harry served three consecutive terms, and later a partial fourth, as mayor of Fort Wayne, IN.

Met a shoe shine guy who worked at The Crescent in Dallas.

His name; Detroit Michigan

He showed me his drivers license to prove it.

I kind of like the name. It's ridiculous, but could be worse.

I was at a store the other day and the check out woman was named "Falisha". I was telling my wife, but realized the story at first wasn't so odd because it sounded like "Felicia." But it wasn't.

That's funny, I was just thinking the same thing. It beats Charlevoix Michigan, Munising Michigan, or White Fish Michigan.

The father of a friend of mine was bestowed with an incredibly cruel name:

Harold Richard Horney (I believe it was spelled with an 'e')

Harry. Dick. Horny.

- Many years ago, the UCLA university research library (now known as the Young Research Library I believe) used to be named the "Hugh G. Dick Library."

- There's an indian professor in the physiology department named Dr. Baljit Kkakh. He asks people to just simply call him Bal Khakh.
