Interior Decorators? Drapery options for Arched Windows

Thread Starter
Okay, so for work I need to find some options for drapery for arched-top windows; ideally something that can be slid out of the way and closed totally.

Any ideas? A lot of the drapes I've seen only hang to the side rather than slide out of the way, or they have a fixed top and only the bottom, flat part is slide-able.

Thanks

While It doesnt answer your needs, I thought this from a thread over in my Kids Forum was a nice arched window drape. http://www.tuesdayschild.com/forum/v...&t=91&start=10 http://www.tuesdayschild.com/forum/d...ile.php?id=106 Strangely while showing in the composition of the post , the pic doesnt actually show. For drapes to "slide out of the way", they have to be installed on a traverse rod. All traverse rods are straight, so they cannot be shaped for an arched window. Some people mount the traverse rod above the top of the window arch so the entire window and arch is covered by the drape. Others have a sunburst installed in the arch portion of the window and have a traversing drape installed in the rectangular portion of the window under the arch (you can see a picture of an amateur-ish sunburst here). Sunbursts are generally built on rods custom-curved to fit your window. Because the rods are not straight, they are not capable of traversing. The picture that FIHTies posted is of a simple curtain held open by tiebacks or holdbacks. That is another option, although they will not traverse, either.

Drywall is your only hope. That's what you get for using girly curves in your windows.

Sorry, had to say it.
