I hesitate to add a reply since I am so enjoying the exchange among the members. Viro Bono's messages in particular. My Father was attached to NATO in the 70s and the dress uniforms were splendidly varied. Although a US Army Officer, he did wear Mess Kit, Blues, and Summer Mess. He often admired the Brits and had an RAF tarten dress commissioned for my Mom. Anyway, I do wear a wing-collar shirt with my vintage 40s DB dinner jacket. Otherwise I prefer a pique front, soft collar with french-cuffs. I have a great one from Budd in London with sleeves that are so thin they are virtually see-through. The pique part is sort of like a big bib. Really helps when we get into the overheated parties.
