Anyone get their shirts dry cleaned? - Page 3

Wash it yourself and do not be so idle. Dry cleaning is however not right for shirts.

The decision to dry clean or launder shirts is not always black and white. There are always shades of gray.

Here's a post that will kick off your decision process....

Blog post: Shirts and blouses - dry clean or launder?

Posted link doesn't work. Please click on www.ravefabricare.com below and enter "shirts and blouses dry clean or launder" in the search engine at top right corner.

(With the new software, my links NEVER work)

The dry cleaners I use (a little, family-run business) has served me well for years. The one time (repeat: one time) I sent something to them and it bled, they didn't charge me for the cleaning. Doesn't sound like much, but the other cleaners here would point to their 'no responsibility' sign and expect payment.

The way I choose what to dry clean and what to toss in the machine is simple: if it came from Gap, throw it in the machine. If it came from Saks, dry clean it. If it's older than me and/or it's precious, wash by hand. My long, cotton scarves are washed by hand, also.

I very seldom wear anything expensive. I have clothes in the wardrobe with cleaner tags on them from 2009 on back.
