People do not care about clothes - Page 5

Hahahahaha.  ernest, if you weren't French, I might be afraid of you. First of all, I meant society in general, not a particular society.  Nor does the manner in which certain segments of a society feel towards me influence my obligation to it. Am I making less money than you?  I'm not sure?  Why don't you PM me your unemployment benefits, and maybe we can compare?  It doesn't matter anyway.  I work for my money, and don't beg for handouts.  And not that it matters that I am actually doing things most people would consider pretty cutting edge, but I think that the guy with no education, collecting trash, being paid next to nothing, has more dignity than you do. You are a parasite.  I think that the French word is pretty much the same.  I'm not at all interested in your life.  I just have a great deal of contempt for you.  There's a substantive difference.

Thank you for small mercies.  Only the French need to be ashamed of you.  And your lack of poor self esteem is evidence of your lack of a moral center.  Read Chesterton, and maybe you'd understand. Oh. and ernest, I had a French girlfriend for a while and had very, very short term relationships with several others.  All highly educated (Sorbonne or Ecole Normal Sup), and in the upper echelons of French society.  How do you like that?   Tell me really, are you sore that living at your mom's is cramping your style? Please, J., can you let me loose?  Pretty please with sugar on top?

The riots of LA were about Chinese?  umm... I'm speechless (and that doesn't happen too often) Last time I checked, the riots were about Rodney King and Reginald Denny and black/white race issues, not about Chinese, and if you were discussing the Asian shopkeepers that were defending their shops during the riots, they were Korean.  Perhaps you're talking about the riots in Indonesia?
Korean have been attacked by Blacks, aren't they? Do you really thing that a black who shut on a Korean did it because he was Korean ? Would it have be different if he has been Chinese? Are you sure? For WASP, Jews and Blacks (people who made US to be what they are) asian people are all in the same bag (lemon face). Does a US korean make a difference between a US black from Congo and from Zaire? Between a scotman and an irish?

In France people do not like non european very much as soon as you see them too much (like in most of western countries) or as soon as they act up... This may be the same in US. Isn't it?
This is called an assumption, and a very large one, and in fact, it's quite incorrect. While there are of course instances where new immigrants aren't treated too well, in general, America is quite friendly to its newest members of society (whether or not they entered our country legally)

The point was that the LA riots weren't about blacks attacking Koreans. They happened to be in the neighborhood of the riots and were attacked because they wanted the contents of the shops, not because the people were Korean. It wouldn't matter if the owners of these particular shops were Mexican, Chinese, Black, or whatever nationality. Looters aren't particularly concerned about the color of the shopowner's skin. Are you a WASP in the US? I imagine there are quite a few members of that particular group on our forum that are quite capable of speaking for themselves, so please don't put words in their mouth.

Oh j, pretty, pretty please let me come out and play. It would be like taking candy from babies, but I'm feeling quite mean spirited this evening.

Dz, Actually, there are a lot of simmering hatred between the Korean shop owners and the black communities. The blacks feel that the Koreans come in, and don't give anything back to the community. Sometimes, it boils over when somebody gets shot. Just because Ernest is stating this doesn't mean it's false. And, you don't have to look that far for any anti-immigration attitudes. More than five years ago, Governor Pete Wilson used this to get reelected when he supported prop. 187. And, Arizona also passed a proposition similar to that this year. I would seriously suggest we mollify Ernest at this point. I have the feeling that we've heaped enough abuse on him, and he's going to go postal soon...

Unfortunately, that is the sad truth. And there are anti-immigration sentiments in the States and to a lesser extent in Canada, where I come from, although in general, I think that European countries, perhaps because of the smaller and more homogeneous populations and for historical reasons, tend to engender more xenophobic and racist sentiments. I say we poke ernest some more, and see how far he will go.

What have you from Faconnable? Albert Goldberg Suit, shirts and cachemire sweater? Where is it made? Italy? Scotland?
A few pairs of pants. Sigh, you're going to make me dig into the clothes I recently packed away for the season...just a minute. <long pause> The only thing I could find easily was a pair of Faconnable linen pants. They were made in Portugal. Not bad...not great but not bad. My God, I just had a decent exchange with Ernest. What's next? I agree with LA Guy's liberalism? Ha, yeah right :-) Added later: Sweet Christ. I wish I had known about his jab at LA Guy before I was decent to Ernest. I'm putting my money on LA Guy in this fight.

Are you living for YOU or for what society will think about you? You seem to give very much importance to what people will think about you. What does NOT show much self esteem and personality. Several relashionships??? BE CAREFULL. What will the society think about it? It may think that you have no morality as you fuck several persons and without beeing married... Working is not all (beeing a good slave is not enough). What do you do the MORALITY ? Fucking a girl which is not your wife (as you talk about very often) .?. What a parasit. Soiling our womens. Some people have been burnt for less than that by the society you live for... Sorbonne is high education? May be for chinese immigrants but for French this is JUST an University in which everybody with a degree can study... One more time you seem to make a race with me. What do I care to know that your girlfriend studied in Sorbonne? Do you think it makes you more interesting? In shellnuts, why do you need so much to be reconized by your surroundings ? And why do you use so basic stuffs as "working" (when everybody can work) or "fucking" a girl who studied a little (every normal person can pick up a girl who studied) to increase your self esteem? Are you interested in clothes for the same reasons = hidding the lack of self esteem you had? One more time i do not understand why you talk so much about me and why you need to say you are so clever and successfull while I am so stupid and such a loser... One last time, what is the links between my professional situation, the diploma of the girl you managed to fuck during holidays in your car and the subject of MY thread??? For living with one's parents, i feel it amazing how quickly can a chinese forget that in his culture, people are living with their parents for a long time before they move (when they move before theirs death.) .

So try an ALBERT GOLDBERG stuff and let me know... Before speaking about Faconnable, try their quality stuffs (Suit, cachemire, sea island shirts) not just their cheap stuffs from Portugal... Try a 8 ply cashmer sweater or a full convass suit by Faconnable.

Like I said, the world of fine clothing where I live is non-existent so picking up high-end Faconnable stuff is next to impossible. I pick up what I can from the Internet or rare trips to large metro areas. Outside of that I have to be content with Hugo Boss.

esquire, that may or may not be true, but it's completely beside the point of what ernest is trying to say, unless he is trying to say that blacks in South Central LA represent the average American. Citing the LA race riots as an example that the average americans don't like Chinese just doesn't make any sense. ernest, in the court of public opinion, attacking the credibility of the witness is fair game.

ernest, Baldessarini is also under the Boss umbrella and makes quite high quality products. I've seen a couple albert goldberg pieces at the Facconnalle boutique here in SCP and they are nice, but similar in quality to the Baldessarini pieces at the Boss boutique about 100 feet away.

LA Guy, you are free to tear Ernest's viewpoints apart, but please refrain from any personal attacks. Ernest, the same goes for you. I think I see what you're trying to say, but watch yourself. Don't be a Kalra and make me ban you, please. I find you very entertaining usually, but this thread is just about to start getting on my nerves. If you guys really want to fight, do it properly, and take it "outside" and choose pistols or swords, or whatever. I am going to move this thread because I don't want it stinking up the clothing forum. The direction it has turned it seems more suited to the Current Events forum, where everyone by now should know to wear Nomex anyway.
