A conservative personality for the Food Network?

I spend most the day watching the Food Network and have noticed that many of the hosts are flamboyant in their personality and dress. I would like to present an idea for a show to the network which was more conservative in dress and with a subtle personal touch toward the cooking and without using catch phrases. Do you feel that viewers would appreciate a more conservative host compared to such on-air personalities as Guy Fieri (Diners, Drive-ins and Dives) and Rachael Ray (30 Minute Meals)? Although Yan of Yan Can Cook had a very signature approach toward his show and showed great enthusiasm I feel that he was rather conservative compared to those hosting the majority of the Food Network programs. Also, if anyone happens to have any connections with the network and could help me get my spatula in the door there I would greatly appreciate it.

Top Chef is really far better than anything on the Food Network.

I don't think a conservative personality would be an easy sell for FN. They'd be considered boring and their ratings probably wouldn't be the same as someone like Raechel Ray, no matter how ugly and fucking annoying she is. Even if their food was stellar, they wouldn't get many people to watch. It's always surprising to me how many people watch FN not for the recipes to use themselves, but because they find the shows interesting. Doesn't make sense to me. I don't see the point in watching unless incorporating some of the tips or recipes into your own cooking. If you're not using the shows for your own use but for your entertainment, then a conservative personality isn't gonna do much for you.

I also think you should do a show featuring how to make various exotic snacks, like Thai boiled peanuts.

I generally don't like those competition shows as most of it has to do with humiliating and degrading the participants. I would like to host a more positive broadcast that is entertaining while being respectful to everyone involved including the audience. I feel that some of the language that Rachael uses is not setting a good example for younger viewers.

Sorry to Gordon I think I confused his name with a character from Law and Order: SUV. I would like a large portion of my show to focus on various gourmet and exotic snack foods such as Thai boiled peanuts (the recipe which I am still perfecting), and is an actually an example I would like to present to the network.

No, it's the Special Victims Unit which is a spin-off of the original Law & Order series.

Thank you for the clarification. I was thinking about it and feel that my idea for a boiled peanut stand could make a very interesting Food Network reality show. It could begin with my development of new flavors such as Thai and Falafel boiled peanuts and follow me through the process of getting the stand operational. As a general question to members here: would this be something that you would like to watch?
