Me and some friends have been discussing hosting a party in my apartment where guests can bring in paintings, photography, writing, etc. that they've created to display or sell, whatever. Its just in the bar-talk stage right now but I really want to do this. Everyone I've asked to contribute so far is really excited to do so and everyone seems to have other friends that want to contribute as well.
Just thought it would be a nice change from the usual. And Im sure there would be no shortage of conversation..plus the opportunity for exposure. Has anyone here ever done anything like this? Is this a recipe for disappointment? I can't find anything online that offers tips for something like this and I havent spent too much time in the art scene to know what to do to make this work...
