I've had a Duxiana for 12 years and have never slept on a better bed! http://www.duxbed.com

Just sleep on the floor.

Spend the money on booze.

bump.

Need to buy a cheap-o mattress in NYC. Full size. Are the Sleepy's pushy salesmen my only option?

Need more ideas...

Is there a wholesale club around? Costco and Sams sell nice mattress on the cheap.

I've read great things about Latex mattresses and as I'm in the market for a queen size myself am going to try a number of them out. The only thing I've seen bad about them other than the increased cost is needing to use a slatted bottom bed frame for ventilation to prevent mold growth. http://sleeplikethedead.com/

Just tried Hestens horse hair mattress topper for a week. Hard as a board and no particular pluses to my sleeping comfort. Avoid!
Will try goose down mattress topper next.
BTW I have Simmons World Class King and it is a very decent bed. Bought it at US mattress. com and the service/price were superb.

Not that I'd ever buy one, but can anyone comment on the sleep quality from a Hastens bed? I'm just curious.

Bought my current mattress close to a year ago. The mattress stores are such a huge scam. I have no idea what the markup is but I always walk out of those places paying about 33percent.

I see no reson you cannot get a firm mattres for 500. If I can get the softest king size serta for 1000 then something for 500 if doable.
