Cigars - Page 561

If you want a can't miss for that price, that rules out most cohibas as i would have recced the corona especial.

I would have said hdm epicure 2 or boli royal corona but judging by your palate and the rich type of smoke you like I'd say partagas 898 or juan lopez #2, both are can't miss with the partagas being more full flavored but 32 bux over your limit I think you will enjoy.

If you want to get rid of your excess stock lemme know.

Thanks for the input Bd and Jet. Always appreciated. You guys have both been very helpful during my Cigar second dawning! Leaning towards the JL#2 or SLRa, as I've no experience w/ either maker and am up for something new. Will report back. As an aside... I know it's not exactly breaking news, but goddamn... Heartfelt Beads are a miracle for the smaller humi. My hydro is quite accurate and has read 61 for a month, no matter how many times I open, remove sticks, etc... So much easier than the "Today Sponges" I used to deal with back in the day. Tonight is SigII and Zacapa on the back deck, after coupla' pints at the pub. Woot!

Finally herfed with a buddy of mine on another forum yesterday, gifted him an 06 sig iv and my ra extra I was going to smoke.

Ended up smoking an 09 sig vi (which was good but I don't get the hype behind this cigar it's not anywhere near my favorite) and a 99 bolivar lonsdale he gifted me that started out real mild then ramped up fucking nicely about a third in which was good because I was getting bored. Turned out to be a great smoke ending around medium full. Would love more of these and lonsdales are one of my favorite vitolas.

Going to steal some ra 898s from him next time I see him.

I'm no pro, and the other guys can probably give you some better recs. However, I'd try..

Rocky Patel Vintage 1990
Romeo & Julieta Short Churchhill
Padron 3000
Oliva Serie V (I like the lancero)
Ashton VSG

These are just a few that I like. Should give you a good variety of flavor profiles.

Just go to your local cigar shop and ask for some recommendations. Let them know you are starting out and you are looking for something mild. Macanudo's are common first time smokes but there are plenty of other good mild cigars you can try. Try a lot of different ones and keep track of the ones you enjoy.

The VR 5th will be the best in that line up.  At least that's how I remember them.

had a Bolivar Gold Medal last night. It was pretty good, had some mocha/chocolate notes going on....Im not really one for describing flavors though, I like it or I dont.
