I do have a red affliction hat, an Ed hardy T, and TR's that used to be awesome. especially with my silver and purple Kenneth Cole quare toes that were way too big.

This is funny, as much as it may be a joke, I'm almost inclined to agree. Friends of mine have given me the the same reaction of 'what a try hard' when telling them about 'selvage' and how people cuff their jeans to show 'selvage', it's interesting how people's perceptions differ. Having said that, I'd much rather wear cuffed selvage denim over most of the things posted here, but I have to agree with them in that cuffing to show 'selvage' is douchebaggy, despite its SF approval.

^ I think you're mistaken if you are implying most people on SF who cuff do it to show off their selvage.

American Apparel sleeveless tees. 2 of them. I only wear them to the gym, but I admit - that's not much of an excuse.

serious question: I really thought this was the reason people cuffed jeans. What is the purpose, then? Is it just an aesthetic thing?

Alot of Abercrombie clothes that I am looking to donate. I bought them when I used to work there back in the day. Also a pair of TR jeans that I bought at retail price which now I fully regret.

People cuff jeans for the same reason people might roll khakis or sleeves: They like the way it looks. Also, it's a cheap alternative to hemming.

Cuffing is workwear related. Used to own heaps of Diesel, Ralph Lauren Polo, Hilfiger, Onitsuka's etc etc. All gone now, or getting ebay'd over time. I think polo shirts are the most douchebaggy thing of all time. Seriously, they just epic fail.

My most douchey piece of clothing has to be a pair of antik denim that i recently got rid of. They had stupid patches and white things on the back pocket that looked like they should of been on my mom's coffee table, Fucking terrible and the biggest waist of money i've ever spent in my entire life. They can burn in hell.

Hmm. Digging into my past. Probably bright orange Ralph Lauren polo and pre distressed A/X jeans.

"A-pocket" SFAM jeans.

Beware the Barney's sale rack.

I've heard it on a few occasions and call me cynical but I suspect some who mention other reasons may be hiding the fact.

uhm people cuff to a. show off selvage (yes, don't pretend you don't.. that's the whole point of selvage) but also because it provides a lighter contrast between the denim/your shoe and helps the jean sit better.

^ makes sense. I never liked the look because it just seemed so "stiff" to me, whereas rolling sleeves/pants isn't as much.
