Hmm...

I'm gonna say in this order:

Air at the Paramount, J and I had front row tickets. Amazing. Sounded perfect, entertaining guys.

James Brown at the Paramount.

White Zombie/Filter

Coal Chamber/Anthrax/Pantera

Xzibit/Too Short (they played for a crowd of maybe... 25 people). Came down into the audience, brought beer (and other things) with them, and hung out. Too Short really hates white people.

I'm looking to catch Nine Inch Nails this summer, but Reznor's not going to even whiff Florida, it seems.

I didn't catch Lupe, since I got to the show a bit late (he's opening). I heard he had a minimal setup though: no flashing lights or bright shiny stuff, just him and a DJ. He couldn't have been on-stage for more than 30 though, since I walked in 40 minutes after the start.

NERD was fun. If you know their music (indie aesthetic with hard rock hooks and hip-hop vocals), you'll find that carries right over to their live act. They had a full band (and two drummers) on stage, with a big visual screen behind them, and they just rocked out for 30-45. Lapdance and Rock Star were especially fun.

Also: Pharrel wears tapered dark denim on stage. Never thought I'd see that.

Well, its just so over the top, visually appealing, and energetic.

Hope I didn't build it up too much for you, though, only to see you disagree.

I salute you.

I saw them in Berlin a few years back. It didn't feel as powerful as it should have...which makes me wish I could've seen them in the 80s.

Yes, I was the same age and saw them in Atlanta. I'll never forget how the band entered the arena all wearing capes while the Firebird Suite played on the P.A. I still have the tour program somewhere...
