Do you have a favorite soup?

All the talks here about food and drinks and no recent thread about one of my favorite food groups: soup!

At the deli shop near work they sell wild mushroom soup bisque. It is delicious and I always find myself going back for seconds and thirds.

I also like the typical stuff like
-wedding soup
-chicken noodle, but chicken with wild rice is even better
-butternut squash
-clam chowder (both New England style and Manhattan style)
-miso, red > white
-hot and sour

My favorite is a cream of cold cream of cauliflour soup on top of caviar set in crap aspic. Failing that, I love clam chowder, tortilla soup and onion soup along with just about any cream soup. Won ton and hot and sour are also favorites.

New England clam chowder is great. Does chili count as soup? Because if it does, game over.

I can't stand any sort of beans, so no chilli for me, not even on hot dogs.

I've heard some praises for Boston's Legal Seafood's clam chowder (served at presidential inaugurations), but it's OK. Best I've had so far was the simple New England clam chowder served at the Oyster Bar in NYC.

Definitely; trahanas

Now that it's getting warmer, I am enjoying cold soups like Gazpacho. In the wintertime, I like French Onion soup. For comfort soup, can't beat congee with century eggs!

I like cream soups as well, and also borscht. A clear chicken broth is enjoyable.

Cold corn chowder is delicious in the summer. I also once had the most spectacular boar stew.

Anything with seafood and cream. I once had a mussel bisque that made my tongue whimper in gratitude.

Kanijiru - miso soup with big chunks of crab in the shell.

Gazpacho - the only tomato-based soup that's palatable.

Lobster bisque

Pho, by a long shot. The soup that I make the most frequent is chicken noodle soup. I usually make a big pot whenever me or anyone close to me is feeling under the weather. Just made a huge pot last week and froze half of it.

I like kimchi jigae or whatever the Korean soup with beef/tofu/kimchi is called. I also like potato soup, with the thick creamy broth, bacon, and cheese.

french onion, lobster bisque, tortilla soup, chili, cioppino if we are counting stews

a real hearty chicken noodle or vegetable beef always hits the spot, too

Corn chowder and garbanzo bean soup!

The absolute most amazing soup I've ever had was when I took my girl to Speratta's for New Year's and had the lobster bisque. Unbelievably rich.

For cheaper soups, I'd say beans-n-bacon. Although a huge comfort food for me is grilled cheese sandwiches served with Campbell's tomato soup...
