I usually take a M and my EG shirt fits great - I have a 40" chest.

By the way, I was just checking out eBay and there are a lot of Double RL western shirts listed in many sizes and colors.

EG fits slightly slim but really pretty true to size. It fits me at 5'8 143 (small in all their stuff) so it fitting depends on your definition of slim.

I recently picked up a Flathead chambray for 110. It was worn once though, I don't know if that condition matters to you. Here's a fit picture:

Have you checked out Mister Freedom at Self Edge? He wears denim shirt, jacket, jeans and carries his gear in a denim bag and ignores those smirky questions.

I love the chambray shirt.

Well I only bought 1 western shirt but I also bought a tee, a polo, two henleys, and a leather jacket this past week (all RRL) in addition to the RRL polo I got at the store. I think I'm set for S/S this year but I'll definitely hit up the clearances. I'm going down to the Double RL store on Friday with my friend. I need to exchange something but he's apparently going to buy a bunch of stuff including some jeans and some shirts and some shoes from somewhere.

Thanks for the info, I though the Double RL brand was no longer and all the items on eBay were from the past.

Ritchee, it is alive and popular as ever. A lot of the stuff online is from the Icons collection (always available in store no matter what season) and current season with some being several seasons old and a small percentage being vintage without tags.

any guidelines on sizing for the rrl western shirts?...it's hard to trust the measurements listed on ebay...they're all over the place

A lot of the older RRL shirts are SLIM as in slim as hell. I take a small but they definitely run slimmer even than Polo custom fit and a lot slimmer than J. Crew tailored fit. On some of the westerns the sleeves are just a touch too long for me, something that isn't the case in their other long sleeve shirts which fit me perfectly.

My sales associate the other day told me that RRL was getting complaints about the slimness of the shirts and that they've started making them slightly bigger. At full retail plain tees start at $60 and most real shirts are between $145 and $185. Denim westerns are $225. For polos and henleys they are usually $95-$125 or so. They had a ton of styles the other day when I was in. The most I've ever seen in store for sure. As I said before it makes me look forward to the clearances.

Yes, thank you for the info. I'm going to try my regular size M in a western shirt and see how it fits.
