iPod Shuffle

Anyone here have a shuffle? I'm looking for something compact, mainly for use for audiobooks and for music at the gym. This seems like the natural choice. Any reviews?

I bought one to replace my nano and love it. It's cheap, so when it inevitably stops working, it's not a big deal. I primarily use it for podcasts and for short playlists at the gym. I think it's a great choice.

How about a Sansa clip? The 2gb model can be had for around $50. You get better sound, and better control.

I have one. I don't have any great need for exceptional sound quality as I only use it when on a run or commuting on my motorbike. I reckon it's excellent; compact, lightweight & simple to use. Mine's a 1-gig, they make 2-gigs now. Unless I plan on running a marathon it has more than enough storage space. Great value for money.

I actually find it very frustrating to not be able to find a song easily. You are a slave to whatever order the song were in on your computer when you synced it. That can be really frustrating. I once had them sorted by time (to find a podcast) and never changed it back to artist, and when I was listening later trying to hear an entire album, it was maddening.

The best way to use it probably is to switch out playlists. But that's kind of a pain.

That would be my recommendation as well. My mom has one and really likes it.

Thanks for all the comments.

Another two that I'm thinking about right now because I'm charging mine:

1. it has to be plugged into the computer to charge

2. it seems to take FOREVER to sync. My older (big) one never did this.
