Yes, there are agencies, or you can put ads in the paper or on websites. You interview them, check references, get to know them, train them, keep an eye on them initially (drop by unannounced; we didn't do the nannycam thing) and learn to trust your gut about people. Our current nanny has been with us 2.5 yrs (she lives in the same house too) and she is almost like family. She loves my kids and they love her back. I trust her completely with my kids.

I'd probably be a terrible father. Little boys should learn how to play baseball, not how fabulous Patti LuPone is.

Well it shouldn't be an issue unless they allow you and GoSurface to adopt.

That's very self-aware and true.

I remember our DINK days as pretty happy and carefree. There are occasional days where I wouldn't mind coming home to a quiet house. However, life with children is full of rewards commensurate with the sacrifices and challenges.

DINTKWGNAGTR, Dual Income, two kids (2yrs, 4months), great nanny and generous tax rebates...
By 8pm the apartment is calm. The week-ends are non-existent though, but this is only going to last for a couple more years.
Spent 7 years as DINKs, things are different now.
