I personally like it. It has a simple design and can be pretty versatile.
I know the price is less to be desired especially since their quality has also gone down over the years but they're still a pretty solid sneakers.

I know brand name items aren't too well accepted here on SF, especially Gucci or Prada but I'm just curious what SF think?

I think these are a bit played out now, I used to wear these 3-4 years ago.

I think it played out depends on the area. I've spoken to a couple of people from the East Coast and they say it is all over there while here California, I rarely see anyone wear them.

For me in the case of this pair of shoes, the Prada name on it is very unattractive. Don't get me wrong, i don't hate Prada at all. You say "it has a simple design and can be pretty versatile", and I agree to a certain degree ( i don' think they are versatile lol). But then I feel that dropping the $$ for this is entirely just for the hype, the Prada name or wutever. Like basically just buying it b/c it's prada, without much other merits. I just feel it's not really a Prada product.

lol and maybe it's too played out too...

Gaudy and played out. But more than anything, gaudy. I don't see what's simple about them, what's versatile, or why you'd even think they're solid sneakers.

While I don't find the America's Cup sneaker particularly attractive, I do find the Prada Sport (or whatever they call it now) line of shoes incredibly comfortable. The leather is ****, the construction is shoddy, and the designs aren't exactly up-to-date, but for travel/serious walking, I still bust out my old PS loafers.

avoid these like the plague...the ultimate douchebag shoe. if you want a designer sneaker, go with Margiela german army or Lanvin low tops. I also like Visvims.

I thought the design is pretty simple. It's not a very complicated design and when they come out with different colors it never goes the rainbow route, it always has decent and solid colorways. It is versatile in a way that it could be worn in plenty of occasions, nothing formal though. It looks good with jeans, it can be worn for going out at night (especially the all black or dark colorways), seems like a pretty good summer shoes with khakis or shorts, it looks sporty enough for some sports like golf and there might be more.

Again, I'm just curious how SF feels and so far I could paint a pretty clear picture.

yeah Prada sneakers are anything but simple. There's that very obvious red stripe, the word "Prada" displayed conspicuously on some area of the shoe...they even took the very classic german army design and managed to totally butcher it with their logoing.

I never really thought the red stripe made the shoe less simple, for the most part you can't really see the "Prada" word in it but I guess the red stripe is pretty obvious that it is indeed Prada. Maybe I've been exposed to too many multi-colored dunks and Bapes (not necessarily worn by me) that these Prada's just seemed simple.

No. They're not simple. Stan Smiths are simple. Even a plain AF1 is simple compared to that.

Jesus they're hideous and I was polite when I called them gaudy. And I've seen them in Cali. Usually on some greasy Iranian walking around Pico.

the design is far from simple. all those organic lines everywhere you look, broken up by weird patches of color. simple would be something where the lines are straight and clean, with elegant curves that aren't just for design purposes (CP, chucks, even nike air forces/dunks).

Okay that explains everything.

As far as simple sneakers go, here are some good examples:

You got the idea.
