I wouldn't be interested in a tie/pocket square with a logo either.

Something on the lines of this.  I would narrow the border lines though.  See how there is a fine line between the border line.  I would use only one side of it as the thickness of the border line.  This tie appears to be decently shiny but I have always preferred a nice sheen on my ties.
How about a little more pizzaz added to it...like this

Not bad, but could you put a battery and some LEDs in it so that the logos could light up. Now that would be classy.

The forum colour scheme is fine by me, it will match the lining of my new suit. (Clarke and Dawe colour scheme.)
I hope you will post a pic of your new C & D suit when it arrives.

If I can overcome some technical hurdles, and the bravery issue, then I will.

To FIHties, First your reference to the word artist is rather childish and certainly noted. Secondly your comment about my posts exclusively being about what I do? Just having perused the posts on the FIHties thread you shouldn't notice the splinter in someone's eye without noticing the beam in your own. I wish you continued good business and thanks for saving me the effort to create something truly unique for The Styleforum.

personally, i think the idea neat and would definitely be interested in participating, it would be quite cool to have dinner one night in paris, and look, behold, what do i see but a tie like mine, identifying a fellow fraternal member of SF...what better way than have something in common in a distant land with someone else....give it a go

This thread has been a great boon for j in term of joke's. Btw I would be willing to pay 50 $ for a tie, is this the consensus by now? But I really don't enjoy any of the tie's suggested. I enjoy the color pallete here at SF as much as anybody but that red doesn't do it for me in tie form. How bout instead of focusing on logo or color we have a tie like this. Something fairly unique but not over the top. With an interesting colors and mayeby a touch of red in there ? Here are two interesting ones which one could wear without raising eyebrows but are unique enough to spot ... ? Both are Ben Silver #2 is actually some sort of boarding school, btw look on their website I think they have some rather unique striped ties and regiments at least a large selection and plenty of ideas for features that could diffirentiate a tie. I just think in the low light of a cafe you won't be able to tell if one solid red or white/silver tie is SF and will be accosting poor french men not named ernest who are simply enjoying their coffee. Say that second one except with SF red instead of orange and maybe an off white backround? We would need something like to thin + fatter tie to make it unique. And not simple solid backround. The colors on the second tie are shared by Woodbury Forest located in VA. My roomate was a boarder there...

I really like J's idea of a white pocket square edged in a deep red. I'm not a fan of the cufflink idea. I think it would be harder to do something unique without it being gawdy or, on the flip side, generic.

But what would be excellent and what I would use, would be a white Irish linen handkerchief (front pocket size) with SF red piping hand rolled round the edges. What do you think?
I heartily endorse this event or product. (White with a red edge is surprisingly hard to find, and I've wanted, nay, needed one for a while.)

Speaking of which, check out what I found in my closet last night. Shows you how much I use "pocket squares", I had totally forgotten about this one.... It's a little darker than pictured, too, almost exactly the right color.

I was just thinking about the "pocket square", and had an idea. I was thinking, "I wouldn't buy a silk pocket square, because I'd never use it." But what would be excellent and what I would use, would be a white Irish linen handkerchief (front pocket size) with SF red piping hand rolled round the edges. What do you think?
Robert Talbott did one last year about this time, white with deep red (burgundy?) background. I can contact them and see if they still have them, and what I might be able to pay for them in quantity... But I like J's too, although it's a bit red....

Jon, I think DM has a bit of a point, but you do as well. Why don't each of you (FIH, Carlo Franco, and DM) create a design and we''ll choose??? I'd pay $100, 100, and 40, but would love to pay less.

I think that Jonathan has a very good point. I'm very glad that so many in-the-business people like Jonathan, Chuck, Alex Kabbaz, Ron Rider, and others post here because they contribute a lot to the board and they often offer me the opportunity to buy quality merchandise that I otherwise might not have known about. The key, however, is that they contribute to the board. They don't just use the board to pump what they sell. Dutch Master is new here, and frankly, I don't see much other than self-promotion in his posts. That's off-putting to me. As far as the Style Forum tie idea goes, I agree with Alex Kabbaz that it's more than a bit ridiculous. I'm not about to buy a tie just because it's the Style Forum ™ tie, and I doubt that many others would, either. This thread is only useful inasmuch as the tie merchants who post here can learn what board members like in a tie or a pocket square or whatever.
