Kiehl's - Page 2

my friend used to work for them, hence being introduced to their range of products.
before them i tried various products, from cheap brands in the supermakret to dermalogica, biotherm, clarins & shiseido.

from my experience.. i find Kiehl's products work exactly as they say on the label...
i have a regime that i follow with my products and notice a difference when i introduce new items..

i currently use:
Mens range:
facial fuel energising face wash- one of the best i have tried, nice tingly feeling while a power cleanser
facial fuel energising scrub - great exfoliator to use before shaving to make sure i don't get an ingrown hairs
ultimate brushless shave cream - white eagle.... great shaving cream, less is more with this cream.. and it does clog the razor but i find that my skin is nice and smooth after the shave and not dry or harsh like other creams

Toners:
cucumber toner - nice and soft... not very drying
calendula toner - this is my fav... nice and soft first thing in the morning... good for winter mornings
tea tree oil & blue herbal toner - nice and drying toner for my T-zone.. i use this when i get home to clean all the excess oil on my face

Serums:
cryste marine firming serum - didn't notice much difference (e.g. didn't see any firmness on my skin) but my face did look refreshed and nourished

Moisturisors:
ultra facial moisturisor - perfect! great for winter... when i start to break out a bit i cut back on its use though
facial fuel spf 15 - very light weight... doesn't replenish my skin with moisture much but its perfect for summer..
yerbe mate tea lotion - i have been using this for about 4 months under my moisturisor every day and have noticed a big difference! very nice and lightweight
cryste-marine firming cream - gave my skin a nice and refreshed look

Eyes:
eye alert- hands down the best eye cream i have ever used.. great to give your eyes that boost it needs in the morning (great for dark circles)
abysinne - use this one at night for fine lines

Masques:
pineapple papaya facial scrub - great as a refreshing masque once a week... leave on for about 10 minutes
rare-earth face masque - i use this once a week for my t-zone and find its great to help me control the oil buildup and reduces the apperance of my pores on my nose
soothing gel masque - great for use after shaving or microdermabrasion.. very soothing and replenishing

Targeted treatments:
blue herbal spot treatment - great for those pimples that you won't kill by the time you wake up in the morning ... good for driying them out
drawing paste - great for those red areas that hurt but don't have a head yet to pop

Lip balm:
Lip balm spf 15- i'm addicted to this stuff... blistex is just as good ,but you need to stick your finger in the tub each time!

BODY:
creme de corps soy milk & honey body polish - great to use once a week to exfoliate my body... leaves my skin feeling nice and smooth
ultimate man body scrub soap - nice and rough for elbows, knees and feet
bath and shower liquid cleanser - coriander is the best... smells masculine and feels refreshing... only need a drop and it lathers really well

Handcream:
ultimate strenght hand salve - use this every morning when i get to work.. nice and smooth and not too oily

Hair:
Panthenol Protein Hair Conditioner Softener - great leave in conditioner
heat protective silk straightening cream - great stuff to use before i use GHD or blow dryer.. keeps my curly hair straight for majority of the day
creative cream wax - this is shit! i prefer l'oreals techni-art products.. better hold

i think thats about it lol

I'll pass the word along when they happen. But try the store as Kiehl's always hands out great samples.

Or find yourself a girl (or guy) in the cosmetic business and marry them. Products for life.

My ex-girlfriend met me from me going into the Kiehl's store to buy stuff.

I use the facial fuel moisturizer and wash as well as the alcohol free toner.

I'm also a big fan of their everyday sport shampoo. Their bar soap is awesome as well.

I used to use the shaving cream but have since switched to Art of Shaving..

their amino acid shampoo and coconut conditioner are amazing, as is their hand moisturizer.

I've used Aveda, Lab Series, Clinique, Biotherm, and a bunch of other higher-end and lower-end stuff. IMO none of these are as good as Kiehls, especially Clinique, which I found to be brutral on my skin.

The facial fuel scrub is amazing. The ultra moisturizer is ideal for winters, but in the summers I switch to Baobab for something lighter. The mild facial cleanser does the job without the feeling of residue. I've sampled almost everything. One thing in particular I'm looking forward to using this summer is the Yerba Matte.

The one thing by Kiehls I don't like is their line of shaving creams. They're better than Aveda but have nothing on the Art of Shaving.

Re: discounts, once you've ordered from them and sign up for emails, they ocasionally send codes or links for free shipping. They also let you select several samples with each order, but don't look for any "half price" or 20% off codes

KIEHL will get you free shipping on $75+ orders, and is posted on their site. They also occasionally offer "deluxe" samples: http://www.retailmenot.com/view/kiehls.com

so does the drawing cream actually work?

I use the shaving cream, alcohol free toner, moisturizer and a facial fuel pre shave scrub. As others have noted, the shaving cream does seem to plug your razor, I just rinse it more or use less cream and more water when I rub it on my face.

Unlike others, I have had no luck with their shampoos, they all seem to contribute to dandruff, even when used sparingly. For my hair I use Bumble and bumble products.

I'm not sure if they still do this, but I think every year (in June, I think) they have a promotion where you can bring empty containers and can get a product of your choice free or something to that effect anyways. Which explains why I have a drawer in my bathroom full of empty Kiehls bottles.

I won't blindly buy Kiehl's anymore. Most of their products can be duplicated at lower price points or i've found better to replace.

> Lite flight brush shaving cream

not a fan.

> Lip Balm 1

it's lip balm.

> eye cream

My mother loves their eye cream. I tried it and found it to be too greasy and sticky.

>Creme with Silk Grooming Conditioner

Is the only product of their's that i love and go out of my way to get. Very easy to work with and it does wonders for my hard to handle hair.

+1 on Clinique exfoliating scrub. I'm using Clarins for a lot of other needs.
