Kiehl's

What are your thoughts on their products. Personally: Facial Fuel energising moisturiser: Nice cooling and awakening effect, but not great for moisture. I often use another moisturiser along with this. Cryste Marine Serum: A decent moisturiser, but I don't notice any firming effect as it claims. Abyssyne Lotion: I'm not old, so I guess this a bad buy... It's still a decent moisturiser. Lip Balm 1: Good lip balm Soothing Gel mask: Feels nice, and skin feels smoother. Although no visual improvement to skin. Drawing paste: Great for stubborn blackheads. Lavender and sea minerals foaming bath: Good, but too expensive for bath. It also makes a good hand wash, and is nice to use in the shower too. Amino Acid shampoo: Suits my hair, gives it a good finish. Tea tree oil shampoo: I use this after the gym, good for cutting sweat on the scalp. Apricot and pineapple face scrub: Seems to be kinder but not as efficient on my skin as the Biotherm Homme scrub I have (I have a coarse beard so I use a scrub a lot to lift hairs before a shave). Lite flight brush shaving cream: Nice rich lather, can clog razor, which my Aqua di Parma and Truffet & Hill shave creams do not do, but then again I guess that's the price to pay for better protection of the skin. Shave oil: Sometimes I use a layer of this under my shave cream, it improves my skin visually quite a bit, and I also get a closer shave, this is perhaps the most effective product. Men's alcohol free toner: I don't know about this, it seems to have powerful ingredients, but yet does not tighten my face in the same way an alcohol based toner/after-shave would. Soothing nourishing face cream for men: Does what it says on the tin.

A timely thread - I was just about to order a bunch of products to try out.

> Lite flight brush shaving cream

Not the best I've tried, but okay. I don't have the clogging issue, but I use a double edge razor. The camphor and menthol can make for an awful scent first thing in the morning, but gets quite nice after a few minutes.

> Lip Balm 1

I bought this by accident when the idiot sales clerk at Barney's was supposed to give me a vial of one of their eye creams instead. Not bad, but not significantly better than Carmex.

> Ultra Facial Cream

Works very well on my skin, and does not leave oil residue.

> Creamy Eye Treatment with Avocado

Seems to work okay, though I've only had a sample pack and could not try it for a long period of time.

> Light, Nourishing Eye Cream

I didn't see any results with this one. The heavy avocado one worked much more nicely for me.

Which ones are you planning to buy?

I'm all about it yo. Kind of addicted to Kiehl's actually... Papaya Scrub: It's light and super amazing if you don't over use it and remember to leave it on for at least a minute after you're done exfoliating. Ultimate Hand Salve: Can't get enough of this. It's not oily but good since I'm a compulsive hand washer and end up with cracked/dry hands. Ultra Moisturizer (non-spf): Much creamier and thicker than the SPF15 version, which is good because it's not runny... I enjoy the consistency a lot more than the SPF version which I had originally grown accustomed to.

A variety of the Facial Fuel products, and maybe 1 or 2 of the shampoo types.

Do people look better because they use these products?

With some of them maybe. I can get by with lesser priced products from other companies, but they usually have side effects that I don't enjoy.

I like their Rare-Earth facial masque and their Sodium PCA moisturizer quite a bit. I've tried some of their other stuff and was pretty satisfied. It's fairly expensive, but it is actually effective in my experience and I like that there isn't much fragrance to any of it.

You guys in the US have it good... Something like the facial fuel moisturiser in the UK costs £25 about $50.

I have never been impressed with any of the Kiehl's products. They did not work well for my sensitive skin.

I can vouch for the facial fuel range. The scrub always makes my face look so fresh when I use it prior to a shave then moisturise well.

Been using their Shampoo for quite sometime now and I couldn't go back to something from the local store...

I love the Amino Acid shampoo. Smells like summer vacation: coconut and coppertone.

I also use the White Eagle shave cream, after-shave toner and the thick facial moisturizer. Seems to work well for me. I really haven't used anything else for the past ten years.

I've tried a lot of their products over the years and have never found anything that I wanted to work into my daily regime or even a regular rotation. I find Clinique face scrub and M lotion to be far better than anything Kiehl's has in their line.
