How to style hair like kirk herstriet?

( if you dont know him, do a google image search)
SO this hair style looks pretty easy to achieve, just some paste, maybe some highlights. But what length would you say that is? Im trying to find a really short hair style that is not your simple buzz cut. thanks for your help

Actually I was just assumin that on a mens forum, most people would know who kirk herbstriet is, so I didnt see a reason to put up pic.

Well, I had to look him up. He's a college football commentator.

And for the record, his last name is spelled Herbstreit

That guy looks like a total douche. Although his very generic hairstyle can be easily replicated with a short hair cut and a bit of matt wax. Don't get highlights, you jump an extra 3 points on the douchebag metre.

It looks to be 1.5- 2" long with the sides and back trimmed with a #4 clipper.
