In the city which I live, our downtown is going through renovations to buildings and has added street level stores, such as Starbucks to the mix. I was talking to a gentleman the other day, who says he still shops for his clothing downtown, to support downtown businesses. There are little to no choices downtown, as everything has moved to the suburbs with urban sprawl in the past 10-15 years. If our downtown is changing, wouldn't it be good to relocate downtown to get in before rents go up? I may have a chance to get on with a mens clothing store after Jan. 1, in which I may suggest this idea. Would it be better to seek backing myself, going out on a limb, with my own product ideas and service ideas? I know this is similar to the other thread, but wanted ideas. Also, what do you think is missing in modern mens retail? You all have shopped in more places than I, and would be a wealth of information. Thanks.
