Since electronics are so expensive in Argentina, relatives / friends tend to ask us to purchase laptops for them if we are headed down there. Unfortunately most (all?) OTR laptops come with at the most Vista Home Premium, which doesn't allow the use of Spanish as the OS' main language.
To switch languages, the computer needs to have Vista Ultimate. Thus I set out to install Ultimate + download the Spanish language pack. Now, I did this on a brand new computer running at 2.2GHz dual core, 3 gigs of ram and 250 gigs HD, with only the manufactures software pre-installed on the computer.
It took about 3 hours. I recall about 1 ½ ago installing XP Pro + the Spanish language pack over XP Home on another laptop from the same manufacturer with less speed than the aforementioned laptop with Vista and it took about 30 minutes.
