I disagree with this statement. My first cigar was a Padron 1964 series. It was a gift from a friend for passing the Bar exam a few years back. After throwing up twice, I swore to myself to never smoke cigars again. Luckily, I stuck with it.
To the OP, smoking full bodied cigars at first will only make you sick. There are some exceptional lighter smokes, particularly Oliva, Serie V . Tatuaje? Padilla? Common, lads, these are not light smokes but any means, and there is a rumor that Don Pepin is mixing some Cuban tobacco to make these more flavorful.
