I have a new Thinkpad X300 and I love it more than Edward Green (but not WW Chan)

It's the classic, functional Thinkpad in a superlight chassis with better screen, great battery life and excellent performance (thanks to a decent, modern SSD). Pricey but I don't regret it one bit.

Inasmuch as I like the MacBook Air in concept and design (but not execution), the X300 is a better and smarter purchase.

Thinkpads are excellent! Just got an X61s, which suited me (and my wallet) better than the X300. Might throw in an SSD in time.

I have a T23 I don't use anymore but it was a fantastic computer. Thinkpads are very well built.

Every single laptop I've ever had has been a Thinkpad. I've seen and used other laptops, and I would never consider switching. 'nuf said.

3 years of law school without a failure here. For that fact alone, I think my T42 is worth at least 10 times the amount of money I paid for it. Not to mention the 2 screens and 2 AC adaptors that IBM replaced, on site, with no questions asked. Unless Lenovo starts to fuck up the Thinkpad series in a major way, I'm not buying anything else in the near future.

Did you buy an extended warranty?

Did you get it HK? I have not seen any stores here showing them yet.

I ordered in the US, first day it was made available, I think that was 3/30. I have a friend at IBM, he got me the employee discount. Came to just over $2k with extended warranty and two batteries. I was happy. You may be able to order off the IBM website in Hong Kong. I have noticed it is available in quite a few stores in Shanghai ... at 30,000 RMB. That's almost $4,500.

I'm on an X61s. The only thing I don't like about it is the corporate software/limitations hehe.
