Indirect racial slurs in another language...ever happen to you?

I often hear people use 'spleetoog' refers to Asian people (Chinese, Korean, Japanese) and 'Makak' refers to Moroccan which mean inderect racial slurs and very rude. It happens here frequently. They do use those words.

my wife's family calls me "el gringo rosado" - the pink gringo. I don't get offended anymore.

"gringo" does not refer to white people in general. it is just slang to say, white american. it's easier and shorter than saying "norteamericano".
Can someones tone of voice and use of other words used with a word not be considered racist or anti-semetic?
