Renewed Thread: Music for Altered States

There was a lengthy thread some time ago for music to chill to. I picked up a couple of new artists to listen to from the thread and thought we should renew it so maybe we can all get a new band or two to stick in the rotation.

I'm gonna start old school:

Tangerine Dream
Enigma
Vangelis

Pink Floyd.

Well, what kind of altered states? There's drunk music, high music, etc., etc..

Also, have you ever really looked at your hand? Like really looked at it?

Whatever you feel like tossing in. For me, about half of my Friday nights, my altered state is just that of relaxation, which is certainly altered from the work week. I probably had music to relax to in some fashion, without or without chemical help (with includes booze) in mind. Melody AM, Boards of Canada, etc. type music.

Man, that's just too much to wrap my mind around at once. I keep getting fascinated with just my nail beds. They'll freak you out.

Yo La Tengo last night, out under the stars, soaking in our spa.

Does anyone else open iTunes and listen to the bands listed you have not heard before? That's exactly what I did with the last thread like this and found some great music.

No so much for mood-altering purposes, but Television's Marquee Moon is a great late-night album. Good for smaller gatherings, or as a party is winding down.

Yes I do that, as well as give a listen to things other SF users recommend. I've found some nice stuff as well.
