i got mine about a week ago...absolutely love them. i've been meaning to take some pics but the lack of digital camera has been a slight hindrance to the task...

for 21oz, it's the softest denim i've ever put on
from day1 they are my most comfortable pair of jeans
it's going to be hard to go back to my oris
i'll try to get some pictures up tomorrow of both

+1. as much as I like the Oris the Skys are miles better. the denim weave is really cool too, looking very greyish

I got mine last week as well

These jeans quickly became my favorite pair once I had them for about an hour. 21oz denim made with supima cotton that's softer than any other pair of jeans I've owned. Can't wait to see what color they'll turn out as after fading.

Just got mine yesterday. The denim on these is absolutely INCREDIBLE. I've honestly never seen anything like it. These jeans feel very solid. I agree with Get Smart, the denim is miles ahead of the Ori denim. Here is a pic that shows the weave:

What does the hem look like?
It isn't chainstitched, but it looks like a regular hem. Normal slim fit with a slightly higher rise. Mine are at the tailor getting hemmed, but I really like the cut and denim on these. Nice hardware too. I'm worried that they're going to be too heavy to wear much in the summer - the denim is soft but it's really thick and heavy, almost like a pair of heavy corduroys. Great color, that picture is pretty accurate in that regard.

I only ask because from what I saw, the stitching was rather sloppy on the few pairs that showed up last time.

Looks straighter this time around:

how much did these end up costing?
Pre-order was around 120. They are now 285. I asked if anyone could figure out how they justify the price on SuFu, not for cost of creation but for a pretty unestablished business but didn't get a clear answer. They now do not sell anything under 245 and their highest bamboo selvedge goes for 345. Best of luck but I don't predict good things unless they've already worked out some deals with stores, distributors and are expecting good press. Then again, what do I know, I'm just an online n00b.

completely agreed! i'm not a big denim guy but they are just amazing.
too bad the introductory price is over i heard they cost esef $120 to make and have them shipped over from japan so it's understandable. maybe esef will offer some styleforum discount? i would definitely buy another pair

I got my Skys on Thursday after shooting Steve an email early this week. He overnighted ($25!) them at no cost to me, without me asking or anything. Great customer service and the jeans are incredible - by far the best jeans at the preorder price point I've ever seen. They're looser than what I've been wearing lately (New Cures, Corpus Sticks, Thin Finns, Dukes) but still a nice, slim fit.

I'd like to see a slimmer fit in the future, but I'd definitely buy a pair of the bamboo Thors if I had the money, as the quality seems well worth the price.
