IC: Vintage '70's "dress" shirt--polyester! Disco!

Well I just found this shirt while cleaning some closets. I purchased it from a thrift shop in the mid-80's but I'm sure it must be from the '70's as it is likely 100% polyester and seemingly Disco-era style.

Words can't do it justice, but perhaps someone would be interested and if so, make me an offer by PM.

The condition is excellent, as it is polyester it is nearly indestructible. No burn holes either. All buttons original. The color is oh so bright, and the collar is oh so pointy (and there are collar stays). Unfortunately the tags were gone so I have no idea who made it.

Behold its magnificence:

It's the LSD shirt--I actually like it, but the polyester is not likable.

It is a fun pattern...certainly reminsicent of something out of the 70's. Anyone remember Nik Nik shirts? (they came out early 70's...right about the time that psychedelic was beginning to shift into disco) This could be one of them.

I would totally wear that if it were cotton.

It would be great in silk.

I hate to admit that I had them. They were daily wear for many, not just for under the disco lights. Nik Nik was all polyester. Worn with beige wool slacks with a slight flare. Wide belt. Platform shoes. All set to go out. No, I wasn't the only one almost 40 years ago.

In 1971 I was the asst. manager of a boutique, back when that meant that you were selling "clothes for hippies." The entire street was filled with similar-type stores and head shops. Not only did I wear Nik Nik's...I sold them.

A better outfit to wear than what most are wearing today.
