I think it's called the hangman as another one mentioned.

You make a loop, then wrap the loop to the end and stick the end part of the lace through the very top of the loop hole. It was a bitch to get right.

Yea, I used to do that in 6th grade too. It's just like a reverse noose, just treat the end/knot piece as if it were a neck. Pretty easy...
