I believe it is called "shoveling".

Both of these... how tacky. I saw a group photo being taken in Fleur de Lys last I went. For $200-$300 for two people, I expected a bit more. I was in Biba, an expensive place in Sac, right at closing the wait staff stripped down to t-shirt and started cleaning up and stacking chairs WHILE WE WERE STILL EATING!

Neither would bother me.

Taking a group photo would not bother me one bit either, but cleaning up before guests finish eating is really rude and unprofessional in my opinion.

Depends on how attractive the waiter is, I think?

I thought they were cleaning up the restaurant and not the table you're at. If it is 12:30am and there are 2-3 tables left in a 20 table restaurant I wouldn't mind if they started clearing things.

My grandmother was from Europe. She had very good table manners but she used to line peas up on her butter knife and sorta roll them into her mouth. At first I found this funny, then, as I got older, repulsive. Now I'd kill to learn how to do it. I worked my way through college as a waiter. My pet peeve was when someone ordered a pastrami on white with cheese and mayo.

People who lick their fingers. Gross! Use your napkin.

People who take pictures. Flash photography in a dim restaurant annoys others (most notably, ME). So, take your pictures outside.

I believe Kentucky Fried Chicken has a rule that diners must, I repeat, must, lick their fingers upon finishing their food. Failure to do so results in an immediate and severe beating.

Bah! Oh, well, I don't do it in restaurants.

From wikipedia: The cause of the difference in custom is uncertain. It is believed to have originated because the 17th century American colonists had established themselves before the fork, and any custom of its use, had become widespread in Europe. The implement did not become widespread in Europe (certainly northern Europe) until the 18th century, and was not adopted in the United States until the 19th century. The American use of blunt-ended knives was also a factor.

1. Waiters asking if I'm finished while I'm chewing food and holding a fork in my hand.

2. People sniffing food they haven't encountered before.

3. People taking an extra five minutes to make sure they pay exactly enough to cover what they ordered, and not a penny more. The same people usually pay a 5% tip, forcing me to compensate.

4. People that go to Chinese restaurants and treat the experience like a freak show, ordering the strangest and spiciest things on the menu just so they can say they did so afterward.

5. Loud music.

6. People that say they love sushi but won't eat raw fish and only order cucumber and 'Philadelphia' rolls.

7. Wine glasses that are filled too high.

8. When everyone decides to share dessert, and it's inevitably the chocolate cake.

9. Chocolate cake.

10. Ridiculous upcharges on mochi balls.

11. Unintentionally soggy bread.

12. People instructing others on etiquette and manners at the table.

13. Restaurants that are 'in' and must be tried before they are 'out'.

I hear ya on the moochi balls. It kills me to pay for one what I can get a 6 pack for.
