Jeans and boat shoes - Page 7

Urban Outfitters sells boat shoes.

For those of you based in the UK are you feeling boat shoes?
I am liking some of the looks on this thread but cannot shift the image of the regular UK boat shoe wearer.
Floppy blond hair, badly fitting chino's , old worn out dress shirt or rugby shirt and A&F carrier bag
If I could get over this association I could see a place for them as I rather like them in navy.

Ah jeans and boat shoes, I personally enjoy boat shoes, but most of the time i feel like what the average guy wears doesn't help make them look right. The fact is, many guys enjoy wearing baggier clothing and wearing a boat shoe will not help your cause if you fall into this category because typically wearing a boat shoe entails that you are trying to dress up your look. Your biggest question is what kind of denim do you wear with a boat shoe? In my opinion, the only kind that works in helping sustain a dressy-yet-casual look is if you wear straight leg/regular fit denim or skinny/slim denim. A blog post I have written on my website briefly discusses this.

I fucking love my new boat shoes. They look awesome with slim chinos or slim jeans. They are quickly becoming my favorite pair of shoes.... at least for the summer months. I can't believe I went so long without owning a pair.

Those look awesome. What color are they, and where did you get them?

They're fucking boat shoes, guys. They'll always be really popular in some circles forever. Some other people get into them for awhile too if they're in warmer climates. I think with how many fashion outlets on the internet there are trends tend to get exaggerated. I see all kinds of people wearing boat shoes. Fivefivefive- They're probably tucked in. One way you could make your's look like that pretty easily would be to lace them so they go in the shoe like that, then cut off part of the laces and then make a small knot so they can't slip out or seal the eyelet somehow. You can tighten them first to make sure it's a good level where they're snug on but still able to slip on/off.

Appreciate the tip, Chrono. I just think the shoe looks cleaner that way.

Heard the Band of Outsiders/Sperrys are getting their second markdowns at Barney's in a week or two. Might pick up a pair of the black ones.

I've only seen 3 or 4 designs (not sure how many they have. I kinda like the inside out ones and these . Not sure if i want to try and find a pair of black patent sperrys or wait till next markdown and grab those black/white BoOxsperrys instead since they'll both be hovering around $90-100
